There once was a girl with a name that no one could pronounce And in an ivory tower she spent her daysReading and writing, just idling away And when she lay to bed each night She dreamed such dreams of idealistic sights

Go out into the world and be free, no longer a boring wall-flower
She wanted to be a writer, to be remembered like Fitzgerald and Hemmingway
But her poems, those labors of love, were mediocre, at best
She wanted to be an actor, to be beloved like Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando
But her monologues, those labors of love, were ineffective on stage She wanted to travel the world
She wanted her name etched into the stone of the earth She wanted, in essence, to be immortal
